eligibility criteria

• • Educational qualification: 10+2 from a recognized education board/institution

• • Language Requirement: Hindi/Sanskrit up to matriculation standard or higher education

• • Additional notes: No additional weightage will be given to any higher education

• • CET Requirement: Candidates must have passed the Common Eligibility Test (CET) for Group-C with minimum 50% marks for general category and 40% marks for reserved category.

 

Salary/Stipend

• • Pay Scale: Rupee. 21,700 Level: 3 Cell-1

• • Applicable for: All three categories (Male Constable General Duty, Female Constable General Duty, Male Constable GRP)

 

Age Limit (as on 01-01-2026)

• • minimum age: 18 years

• • Maximum Age: 25 years for all CET Group C qualified candidates as on 01.01.2026

• • Age Relaxation: Relaxation of 5 years for Scheduled Caste, Backward Class and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories as per government instructions

• • For Ex-Servicemen: As per Rule 12.24 (1) (c) of the Punjab Police Rules, 1934, the break in service between the date of superannuation and the first day of that month (01.01.2026) shall not exceed four years.

• • Physical Measurement Test (PMT): Qualifying nature test based on height and chest measurement as per prescribed standards.

• • Height Standard:
    • • Male General Category: 170 cm

     

    • • Male Reserved Categories: 168 cm

     

    • • Female General Category: 158 cm

     

    • • Female reserved categories: 156 cm

     

• • Chest Standards (Men Only):
    • • Normal Range: 83 cm without expansion with minimum 4 cm expansion

     

    • • Reserved Categories: 81 cm without expansion with minimum 4 cm expansion

     

• • Physical Screening Test (PST): Aptitude nature test to evaluate physical fitness and stamina
    • • Male: 2.5 kilometers in 12 minutes

     

    • • Female: 1.0 kilometer in 6 minutes

     

    • • Ex-Servicemen: 1.0 km in 5 minutes

     

• • Knowledge Test: 97% weightage consisting of objective type, multiple choice questions

• • Recruitment will be done strictly as per CET policy dated 31.12.2024 and its amendment dated 11.07.2025 for Group C.

• • Standard digital measuring instruments will be used for physical measurement testing

• • RFID (Radio Frequency Identification Device) or better technology will be used for physical screening test

• • Adequate number of candidates will be invited on the basis of CET merit for PMT and PST (both qualifications).

• • The Commission will shortlist candidates equal to ten times the advertised posts for each category for the Knowledge Test

• • Commission may conduct examinations in batches as per requirement

• • All rules/instructions prevailing on the opening date will be applicable

• • Candidates should fill the online application form carefully and upload all the required documents

• • No offline application form will be accepted

• • The OMR sheet consists of three folios – candidates should not mark anything on the commission copy

• • Use of eraser, nail, blade, white fluid/whitener on OMR sheet will be canceled

• • After the examination the answer key will be published on the website

• • Objections on the answer key can be filed within the specified period with Rs. Rs.250 per objection (non-refundable)

• • Medical fitness and character verification will be done by the appointing authority before appointment.

• • Candidates who have obtained degrees from fake institutions are not eligible

• • The Commission reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts till the date of recommendation.

• • Use of mobile phones and electronic devices is strictly prohibited during the examination.

• • Candidates will be thoroughly searched with sensitive metal detectors.

• • No arrangement will be made to keep personal belongings at the examination center.
