eligibility criteria

- The candidate must have passed Matriculation from a recognized education board.
- Punjabi must be passed as a compulsory/elective subject or equivalent at the Matriculation level as per the Punjab Civil Services (General and General Conditions of Service) Rules, 1994.
- Educational qualification certificate should be issued on or before the last date of application.
- The candidate must fulfill all the reservation, domicile and category conditions claimed in the online form.
Age Limit (as on 01-01-2025)

- Minimum Age: 18 years (All Categories).
- Maximum age for general category: 37 years.
- Maximum age for SC/BC of Punjab: 42 years.
- Maximum age for Punjab State and Central Government employees: 45 years.
- Upper age for Ex-Servicemen of Punjab: As per Punjab Ex-Servicemen Recruitment Rules, 1982 (Age after deduction of military service should not exceed the upper limit by more than 3 years).
- Maximum age for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) of Punjab: 47 years (relaxation of 10 years).
- Upper age for widows, divorcees and some other categories of married women: Up to 40 years as per Govt. Instructions dated 23.04.1984.

- The pay scale of all Group‑D posts (Sevadar, Chowkidar, Sweeper‑cum‑Chowkidar, Safai Sevak, Sweeper‑cum‑Gardener, Mali‑cum‑Chowkidar, Fisherman, Sailor, Laboratory Attendant) is ₹ 18,000 – 56,900, Level‑1 as per 7th CPC.
- Salary, allowances and other benefits will be admissible as per the instructions of the Finance Department (Personnel-I Branch), Govt. Issued by Punjab from time to time.

selection process

- Selection will be based on objective type (multiple choice questions) written examination.
- The syllabus and exam pattern will be uploaded separately on the official website of PSSSB.
- Admit cards for written examination will be available only in online mode on the Board’s website; No separate notice by post.
- The final merit list will be prepared solely on the basis of marks obtained in the written examination.
- In case of tie in written marks, the candidate older in age (as per date of birth) will be placed higher in merit; If there is still a tie, the higher percentage in the essential qualification will be considered; If still equal, higher matriculation marks will be considered.
- Shortlisted candidates as per merit will be called for counseling and document verification as per category-wise vacancies.
- Only those candidates who are found fully qualified in document verification will be recommended to the concerned department.

- Visit the official website of PSSSB: https://sssb.punjab.gov.in and click on the “Online Application” link.
- Apply Online only from 21-11-2025 to 05-01-2026 5:00 PM; No other mode of application will be accepted.
- Submit separate online application forms for each post and pay separate fees if applying for more than one post.
- First select the post then complete the registration by entering basic details and educational details; A username/registration number will be generated.
- Login again using the registration details and fill the application form step by step, upload passport size photograph, signature and required educational certificates (Matriculation with date of birth, 10+2, Diploma/Degree as applicable).
- Submit online application form; Fee can be paid from the next working day of form submission till 29-12-2025.
- Pay the examination fee through SBI Challan in any branch, or through Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/UPI as available.
- After successful fee payment, download and print the final submitted application form and keep it safe for future reference.
- No corrections will be allowed after final submission of the online application form.
