eligibility criteria

• • Must have B.Sc degree. Agriculture with Horticulture as an optional subject (minimum 50% marks) or Experiential Learning Program (ELP) in Horticulture/ B.Sc. Horticulture from a recognized University or Institute;
  • Must have MSc degree. Horticulture from a recognized University or Institute; And
  • Must have passed Matriculation examination with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or optional subjects or any other equivalent examination in Punjabi language as may be specified by the Government of Punjab from time to time.

Age Limit (as on 01-01-2025)

• • Minimum Age Limit: 18 years
  • Maximum Age Limit: 37 years

• • The upper age limit is relaxable up to 45 years for employees of Punjab Government, employees of its Boards/Corporations/Commissions and Authorities and all State/Central Government employees.
  • The upper age limit is relaxed up to 42 years for Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes of Punjab.
  • Ex-servicemen of Punjab domicile shall be permitted to deduct their period of service in the Armed Forces of the Union from their actual age and if the resulting age does not exceed by three years the maximum age limit prescribed for direct appointment to such vacancy in the relevant service rules, they shall be deemed to have satisfied the conditions in respect of age limit.
  • The upper age limit is relaxed up to 42 years for widows, divorcees and some other categories of women.
  • The upper age limit is also relaxed up to 47 years for “Persons with Disabilities” in Punjab.

The process of selection of candidates for 101 posts of Horticulture Development Officer (Group-A) in Horticulture Department of Punjab Government will be as per the following details

• • The examination will be of two (02) hours duration.
  • The examination is pen and paper-based, with answers to be given on a specially designed machine gradeable OMR sheet using a ball point pen.

• • Candidates can apply only by filling the online application form, the link of which is available on the Commission’s website http://ppsc.gov.in. No other mode of application will be accepted.
  • Last date for submission of online application form along with fee payment 14-11-2025 till 11:59:00 PM
  • Candidates are advised to fill their details carefully in the online application form, such as name, father’s name, date of birth, category for the post, qualification, experience, photo and signature, category for fee, etc. After final submission of the online application form by the candidate, no changes will be allowed, and the candidate will be responsible for any mistake in the data filled in the online application form. The category once chosen by the candidate will not be changed under any circumstances.
  • Candidates are not required to send the hard copy of the online application form to the office of Punjab Public Service Commission. However, candidates must take a soft copy or print out of the application form at the time of applying, as they will not be able to take out the copy later. He/she must retain a hard/soft copy of the online application form along with all the eligibility documents to send to PPSC at short notice as and when required by PPSC.
