Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

For Clerk:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University.
  • Proficiency in the operation of Computers (Word Processing and Spread Sheets).
  • Skill Test: Typing Speed of 35 words per minute in English on a Computer.
  • ICT Training Course on Computer (CCC) of 80 hours (to be furnished at the time of Document Verification).

For Steno-Typist:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University.
  • Proficiency in the operation of Computers (Word Processing and Spread Sheets).
  • Skill Test: Dictation – 10 Minutes @ 80 w.p.m.; Transcription – 50 minutes on Computer in English.
  • ICT Training Course on Computer (CCC) of 80 hours (to be furnished at the time of Document Verification).

Scheme of Examination

Stage 1 – Written Test (OMR Based)

The written test carries 200 Marks and is common for both Clerk and Steno-Typist posts. There is no negative marking, and the medium of examination is English.

Paper 1 – Morning Session (10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon): 100 Marks

Stage 2 – Typing / Proficiency Test (Qualifying Only)

  • For Clerk: Typing Test in English on Computer for 10 minutes @ 35 words per minute.
  • For Steno-Typist: Stenography in English – Dictation 10 minutes @ 80 w.p.m.; Transcription 50 minutes on Computer.

Note: Final selection will be based purely on Written Test marks. No Interview will be conducted.

Selection Process

  1. Written Examination (OMR Based): Candidates who qualify with a minimum of 40% marks in each paper will be shortlisted for the Typing/Proficiency Test in the ratio of 1:20 (20 times the number of vacancies).
  2. Typing Test / Proficiency Test (Qualifying): Shortlisted candidates will appear for the Typing Test (for Clerks) or Stenography Test (for Steno-Typists). This stage is qualifying only and carries no marks.
  3. Final Merit List: Prepared based on the Written Test marks of candidates who successfully qualify for the Typing/Proficiency Test. A waiting list will also be maintained.
  4. Document Verification: Conducted after the declaration of the final result. Candidates must bring all original and photocopies of educational qualification documents, category certificates, and other required documents.

Tie-breaking: In case of equal merit, the older candidate will rank higher. If age is also equal, the candidate with a higher percentage in the Bachelor’s Degree will rank higher.
