Brief Information: The Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB), specifically the Construction Division located at Dhulkote (Ambala), has released a notification for the engagement of Lineman (ITI Trade Apprentices) for the 2026-27 training session. Eligibility Restrictions

Candidates falling into the following categories are strictly NOT eligible to apply for this apprenticeship:

• Candidates whose final ITI or 10th-class results are still awaited on the closing date (03 December 2026).
• Candidates who have already undergone, or are currently undergoing, apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship Act 1961 in any other establishment.

Selection Process for BBMB Lineman Apprentice

The recruitment process is straightforward. There is no written test and no personal interview. The selection is entirely merit-based:

• Merit Calculation: Eligible candidates will be selected directly from the NAPS portal database. The merit list will be prepared out of 100 marks by giving:
  • 30% weightage to marks obtained in the 10th class.
  • 70% weightage to marks obtained in the ITI (Lineman) course.
• Preference System:
  1. 25% of the seats are reserved for candidates possessing a residency certificate of the district where the Grid Sub Station is located.
  2. If seats remain vacant, they will be offered to candidates holding a residency certificate of the State where the Grid Sub Station is located.
  3. Remaining unfilled seats will be filled via open, all-India merit.
• Tie-Breaking Rules: In case of a tie in marks, the older candidate will be given preference. If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed the 10th class earlier will rank higher.

How to Apply Online via NAPS Portal

BBMB accepts applications for this recruitment only through the online NAPS portal. Offline applications will not be entertained. Follow these steps:

• Visit the official National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) portal: apprenticeshipindia.gov.in.
• If you are a new user, click on “Register” -> “Candidate” to create your profile. Ensure your profile is 100% complete (Upload Aadhaar, Bank Details, 10th Marksheet, and ITI Certificate).
• If you are already registered, log in using your Email ID and Password.
• Navigate to the “Apprenticeship Opportunities” section.
• Search for the establishment name: “Bhakra Beas Management Board” or search by location “Dhulkote, Ambala”.
• Locate the Lineman trade opportunity under the Construction Division and click “Apply”.
• Submit your application before the deadline of 03 December 2026.
• Selected candidates will be intimated later for physical document verification at the Dhulkote office.
