Selection Process for SSSC Punjab Clerk Recruitment 2026

The recruitment process features three main stages. The final merit list will be prepared solely on the basis of the marks obtained in the Written Examination (CBT).

Stage 1: Online Written Examination (Computer Based Test)

The written exam is a mix of objective and subjective questions, totaling 100 marks, to be completed in 2 hours. Candidates must score a minimum of 33% in each subject and 40% in aggregate to qualify.

  • General Knowledge (Objective): 50 Questions (50 Marks)
  • English Composition (Objective): 20 Questions (20 Marks)
  • English Composition (Subjective): Essay (10 Marks), Letter (5 Marks), Precis (5 Marks), Punjabi to English Translation (10 Marks). Note: The subjective portion is evaluated only if the candidate secures at least 33% in General Knowledge.

Stage 2: Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) – Qualifying Nature

Candidates shortlisted from Stage 1 will undergo the CPT.

  • Part-I (Spreadsheet Test): 10 Marks, 10 Minutes. Qualifying threshold is 40% (4 Marks).
  • Part-II (Typing Test – English): Evaluated only if Part-I is cleared. Candidates must achieve a typing speed of 30 Words Per Minute (WPM).
